WHES Secures Multi-Hundred-Million-RMB Pre-IPO Financing to Accelerate Global “AI + Energy Storage” Strategy
Recently, WHES Technology Co., Ltd. (“WHES”) successfully completed a Pre-IPO financing round worth several hundred million RMB.
The round included a strategic investment from a fund under China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH), a central state-owned enterprise, alongside participation from several industrial and financial investors. The proceeds will be primarily directed toward advancing core technology R&D, accelerating the integration of AI capabilities, expanding WHES’s global market presence, and further upgrading its intelligent manufacturing capacity.
This financing represents an important milestone in WHES’s development, further strengthening the company’s technological innovation, industrialization capabilities, and global competitiveness in the commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage and intelligent energy sectors. It also provides a solid foundation for WHES’s continued international growth and future capital market development.
As a leading provider of digital and intelligent C&I energy solutions, WHES has made “AI + Energy Storage” a core strategic priority, continuously advancing the integration of artificial intelligence with energy storage, electricity trading, and energy management. Through its experience across complex C&I applications worldwide, the company has built strong technological expertise and proven engineering and project delivery capabilities. This year, leveraging its proprietary AI engine, WHES introduced an intelligent energy operating system with intent-understanding capabilities, bringing a new level of intelligence to energy management. Through natural-language interaction, intelligent analysis, autonomous strategy generation, and energy-consumption profiling, the system translates user needs into executable energy management strategies—shifting the experience from “users operating the system” to “the system understanding user needs and proactively providing solutions.” The technology enables more intelligent operation and continuous value optimization of energy storage assets throughout their lifecycle. It also reflects WHES’s continued advancement of “AI + Energy Storage” across complex C&I scenarios, supporting the evolution of energy management from conventional equipment control and rule-based execution toward a more intelligent, proactive, and scenario-driven approach.
In recent years, WHES has earned broad recognition across both the energy storage industry and capital markets, driven by continuous technological innovation, reliable products, and strong global delivery capabilities. The company has been named to BloombergNEF’s (BNEF) Tier 1 Global Energy Storage Manufacturers list for nine consecutive quarters and was also selected for the 2026 GEI China Potential Unicorn Enterprises list, reflecting its growing market position and development potential. WHES has also continued to strengthen its technological innovation and industrialization capabilities. In 2025, the company was recognized by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) as a National-Level Specialized and Innovative “Little Giant” Enterprise and received the First Prize of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. Its innovation achievements have received further recognition at both international and national levels. WHES won Gold Medals at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in 2024 and 2025, while its “Intelligent Dispatch System for Park Energy Management” was selected by MIIT as a typical application scenario for AI empowerment.
At the regional level, WHES was included in Jiangsu Province’s list of “AI + Manufacturing” diagnostic service providers and selected for the 2025 Jiangsu Province Digital Society Major Scenarios and Key Enterprise Cultivation Program. The company has also received a Dun & Bradstreet 4AA1 credit rating, further underscoring its operational strength, financial credibility, and long-term business reliability.
With the capital and strategic resources provided by this financing, WHES will further strengthen its position in the global energy storage market while accelerating the development and international commercialization of its intelligent energy management solutions.
Looking ahead, WHES will remain focused on its “AI + Energy Storage” strategy, increasing investment in core technology R&D and further integrating artificial intelligence with energy storage, electricity trading, and energy management. At the same time, the company will continue to expand its global presence and strengthen localized service and delivery capabilities across key international markets.
By advancing the transformation of energy storage from hardware-based systems into intelligent energy assets, WHES aims to unlock greater value throughout the asset lifecycle and, together with partners worldwide, contribute to a smarter, greener, and more sustainable energy future.
