Reflecting the organizational alignment in use by many Smith customers, the new Smith Oilfield Segment also appropriately blends the Smith legacy business units with the legacy W-H Energy Services companies. The resulting three categories of the Smith Oilfield Segment are arranged according to the industry functions they serve, allowing more direct sharing of expertise and resources among all product lines and services within a given category.

Smith Oilfield Segment presents a broad variety of operations in which the service, product line or market segment of each represents important entrances or additions to a strong Smith portfolio.

Technologies

·         Dyna-Drill Technologies provides positive displacement motor (PDM) power sections to many PDM providers in the industry.   

·         Smith Bits is a leading provider of roller-cone and polychrystaline diamond composite (PDC)bits. 

·         Smith Percussion is a leading provider of percussion bits. 

·         i-Drill is a drilling simulator used to optimize the drilling tool assembly, minimizing downhole vibration and maximizing the rate of penetration. 

·         The ASE Advanced Service Engineering offers operators in-house engineering expertise to help write drilling procedures and select the right bits and downhole tools. 

·         Megadiamond is a manufacturer of synthetic diamond cutters which it offers to PDC bit suppliers. 

·         Omni Seals is a manufacture of a wide range of rubber and other seals which it offers to the oil and gas  and other industries

Drilling and Evaluation

·         PathFinder is a provider of directional drilling, measurement-while-drilling (MWD), logging-while-drilling (LWD) and formation evaluation, positive displacement drilling motors (PDM) and rotary steerable systems,.

·         Smith Neyrfor offers the leading drilling turbines to the industry.

·         Thomas Tools is a rental equipment provider offering specialized down-hole tools including drill pipe, drill collars  and handling equipment.

·         Thomas Tubing rents premium tubing along with a wide range of blow-out preventers.

·         Smith Drilling and Remedial is a provider of fishing services, drilling tool rentals (including drilling jars, accelerators, and roller reamers) and wellbore departure services.

·         SBE Smith Borehole Enlargement offers a wide variety of tools to enlarge a wellbore, including the pioneering RHINO REAMER® concentric underreamer.

Completions and Production

·         E&P Wireline Services performs casedhole wireline services.

·         Coil Tubing Services provides coil tubing and nitrogen pumping services.

·         Madden Systems provides production logging and pressure analysis services.

·         Wireline Control Systems  rents high performance well pressure containment equipment used with wireline equipment.

·         Smith Completions offers liner hanger systems and completion equipment including service and production packers, bridge plugs, frac plugs and other completion accessories.

·         Smith Lift provides specialized, highly efficient artificial lift equpiment targeted at the low volume, shallow well market.
